HORIZON "Where we meet"

Horizon, where we meet is a proposal for a large-scale sculpture inspired by the expression : “Break the wall and build the bridge and my personal experience. The concept came from a reflection about the notion of horizon, which can be defined as the line that separates the ocean from the sky or, from another perspective, it can be the line where the ocean meets the sky. It can separate or meet. This virtual line affects the way we see the world. And we live in this way, following fabricated boundaries set by our own limited minds. My work explores this shift of perspective. Looking at the sculpture, one can see a fence, and another can see a bridge. It represents the fabricated divisions of races by skin color. I see a bridge and I hope to destroy the boundaries that divide us, as we all belong to humanity. It is grounded in my own lived experience and I create from it to help shift perspectives and build a more equalitarian world.
