'Electro-Petel' VAMFF 'Electronica' 2016

Cotton, Silk, Polyester, LED Electronics, Metal Electro-Petal is a combination of fashion and technology. Nature and the vibrant blossoms and petals of spring inspire this work. Within her practice, Chloe Ritchie worked with an IEEE Women in Engineering Engineer, to sew in wired circuits, powering LED lights and sensors. These LED elements placed underneath illuminated the petals of the skirt, beating in sync with the model’s heart beat. This conceptualised piece became connected with nature through the use of contemporary technology.
