"Noir" Mannequin Series Graduate Collection 2017

Photos: Koreigh Conduit The evolution of the hybrid human is being explored through this collection of high fashion couture garments. This collection is influenced by the idea of other worldly beings present on Earth that may exist in the near future. As technology takes over and the world becomes more akin to the dystopian vision of writers like George Orwell, the world will begin to expand its’ focus to extra-terrestrial beings seen in works like H.R. Geiger and his eerie, sexualised creatures. Fashion will evolve to express the individuality of the wearer while augmenting their bodies to an alien human crossbreed. Human skin is transformed and integrated with sensuous tactility through luxury fabrics that mimic an unfamiliar alien being while body shapes are built upon and altered to outrageous proportions. Corsetry components add familiarity in this new and wild world that is mixed with hazy neon lights, the thumping of tech music and the sensual darkness of night. This collection begins the transition from human to creature. Sensuality is bred with inhuman forms to evolve into the future of who we can become. Our inner creature is waiting to be expressed.
