The series Armours came from a research on the limits of the photographic portrait. A portrait that shows only the surface of a person seemed to be inadequate to express the experience of the Other. Using clothing as subject, the viewer is invited to consider the void left by the absence of the human body as a site referring to the experience of otherness. These objects, placed in ephemeral assemblages reflect also a desire to investigate the symbolic potency of objects – above and beyond their association with human life.
