Marion Desjours is a French photographer based in Barcelona. Self-taught, she has never seen photography as a passion, but as a necessity, an essential means of questioning the world around her. Her photographic speciality is portraits, and through her photos she dedicate an ode to love and humanity. Her work is rooted in documentary and auteur photography, with a deeply committed and social approach. As part of her research for her final Master's project in documentary and auteur photography at LCI Barcelona, she is examining the representation of the female body in the face of illness, exploring the invisible dynamics that shape access to care and the perception of the medicalised body. Through an approach combining visual testimony and commitment, she highlights the inequalities that weigh on women facing cancer, while placing the reception of participants and ethics at the heart of her creative process. For Marion, photography is much more than an image: it's a tool for raising awareness, revealing injustices and leveraging action. Her ambition is to make her work part of a long-term dynamic, combining visual creation, societal research and concrete commitment, in order to contribute to better treatment of breast cancer and greater access to care on a global scale.
