In an age where film photography 🎞️ has become more nostalgia than necessity, I wanted to reimagine what we discard : not as waste, but as potential. "Through the Lens" is a high-end nightwear piece I designed using recycled disposable camera reels, once destined for landfill. Each reel was carefully deconstructed and transformed into embellishments that mimic the reflective shimmer of sequins, catching the light with a metallic, cinematic glow. The base of the dress is crafted from sheer recycled mesh, creating a dramatic contrast between softness and industrial texture. The reels were hand-stitched across the fabric, this piece is a conversation about memory, waste, and reinvention. It aims to be sustainable nightwear that challenges what glamour can be. The design was featured in the LaSalle College Fashion Show.
