DJ Turntable

This is the SL1200 MKII Turntable, the workhorse of DJ setups since the 70’s. It has made a resurgence in popularity today, along with vinyl records. I chose to model this as I saw it as a challenge and wanted to push myself to recreate an icon of the DJing world. I used Maya for the modeling and textured the top face using Substance 3D painter. Though available in a variety of colours since its release, I chose to render it with the original silver grey colour. I did however stray from the original specs and included another icon of the DJing years, the Ortofon Concorde needle which I textured in a bright red. Finally I used RenderMan lighting to complete and render the project.
