The Murphy Residence

This residential project encompasses a house for a family of five as well as a basement suite for rental purposes. The family is made of a father that is a writer and adores to cook for his family; an artist mother, that requires a big studio space for sculpture and ceramic for her work; one teenage boy who is a music lover; and two young twin girls, who love books, reading and drawing. This a very creative family that need a lot of space to be expressive and enjoy each other. The style of the house is to be the source of inspiration for this creative family in all aspects of their lives. Creating a space that is fun, dynamic, and colorful as a mean to represent the end users well. A modern style, with clean straight lines, an open floor plan to make the whole house to flow as a unit, a space that is integral and works together seamlessly. Bright and colorful design through the house to induce creativity from the clients. Shapes and colors being the main focus of the house as a whole in every room. The private areas, in the second floor, have more of a relaxed and calming colors to provide solace and a calming effect to the users.

Living Area

The main floor of the house counts with a big living area for the family to share moments together, a great kitchen since the father loves cooking and a dinning area.

Office

One of the members of the family is a writer that works from home so on the main floor there's also an office created for that purpose.

Studio

There is also an studio area for the member of the family that is an artists and needs to create their art in house.

Primary Bedroom

The primary bedroom has a more neutral palette than the rest of the house as it is suppose to be a space for relaxation and rest.
