Art_Photography

This is my final project for Art Photography, and my name is Harshman Singh. This project was inspired by a series of images taken in Montreal's old downtown. Many architectural marvels with modern adaptations may be found in Montreal's old city. The photos were taken on a typical overcast winter day in Montreal. Using the iPhone's Vertical panorama technology, the photos were taken from various angles of view. This creates a picture of the 9:16 ratio. The images were taken with a grey and architecture theme in mind. To enable more light and maintain sharpness, the images were taken with a shallow depth of field and a wide aperture. For the most part, the focal length was much below f5, allowing for auto shutter speed for improved illumination. Cobblestones and windows were employed as patterns. The story that these images tell is that they are timeless. These photographs depict how Montreal's historic city has adapted to the contemporary world while maintaining its old soul. The many points of view demonstrate how different it will be to perceive these structures from the perspective of various objects.

The grey rain

The invisible grey rain coming from the endless sky. The photograph shows the POV of a brick on the street.

Timeless Architecture

The dark cobblestone street contrasts the Marche Bonsceours. The grey cloud passed like time from the timeless dome of the building.

Useless Nutcrackers

The celebration of Christmas and the grey skies are complemented by the grey car. The store lights describe the end of the day, but nutcrackers are dressed red, cathing eyes and most useless in this picture.

Modern Dilemma

This picture describes multiple things such as religion on the dark side due to the Pandemic and the coming of Christmas. The stars in front show the celebration as well as the virus.

The Broken neck

This picture shows the POV of a pedestrian crossing the street, adoring the modern windows of an ancient building that is Place d'armes.
