MRKT aims to transport you to the world of vintage markets in an original and stylish way. A market is a space full of extraordinary objects and garments that only if we know how to choose well will stand out from the crowd. The concept of market in which I have been inspired is the quality, the beauty of the old, the beauty of the worn, the beauty of the used, of the burned. Furniture and architecture usually star in this kind of markets, I wanted to convey the warmth of vintage wooden furniture in each garment designed. As in a market we can find many things and it can end up becoming a "chaotic" situation, I also wanted to incorporate, somehow, this concept. In some of the garments we can see accessories such as buttons and zippers located in unusual places. I have also played with the concept of designing two garments in one, through various trimmings we can separate certain parts of some garments and give a dual use to that piece of clothing. El Mercantil, a charming market located in Sant Cugat del Vallés, is one of the bases of my inspiration. This type of markets transmits me tradition, quality and purity, that's why I have included traditional and classic garments such as blazers, trench coats, vests or cardigans that I think transmits the concept of the traditional. The carefree is also the protagonist of this collection, as I said before a market could be synonymous of disorder, this denim touch of MRKT is a way to show its wild side.
