Biografía

I was born and raised in the south of Brazil and introduced to Design and Architecture at a young age. My family runs a construction and development company specialized in residential buildings and I was given the opportunity to be in touch with architects and designers from concept development to project execution throughout my life. These experiences opened my eyes to the universe of Interior Design, and I wanted to be part of the team that turn dreams into reality. After graduating from high school, I enrolled in a Graphic Design Bachelor’s degree program. Unable to course Interior Design due to unavailability, I took many courses in the meantime, ranging from millwork drawing to Interior decoration. After my graduation, I worked in a partnership with an Interior Designer and, for 7 years, we designed residential projects and display apartments. My educational and professional career at that point provided me a great amount of experience and knowledge and finally I took on a position in my own family business as a leader of a multidisciplinary team. My role was to develop a standardized design process, create the design concept and briefing documents, customer services and to choose all the pieces that compose an Interior design project. As a graphic designer, I learned how to communicate in a visual manner and how fundamental research is conducted during the whole design process. The skills acquired from Design principals, ergonomic, branding and color theory have been fully applied on my Interior Design projects and expanded my creative process. Nevertheless, moving to Vancouver was an opportunity to finally focus and immerse in the Interior Design studies, improving my existing skills and learning new ones. I am always looking for inspiration through my travels and adventures, although I believe that the personal history and memories of which client are the greatest source of inspiration. I am passionate about how functionality and simplicity of a space influence the personal experience. Personally, I lean towards aesthetically modern and sophisticated style focused on practicality; however, character and particular preferences are incorporated into my projects, telling the story of those who live and use the space. The desire to design taking a more personal and unique approach is my motivation to keep growing and learning as a person and a professional.
