Transformation of Street 3 / Transformación de la Calle 3

This project consists in a University Community work of the analyzed preliminary project: Projecting La Calle de la Amargura Transformation of Calle 3. A revision of the preliminary project is generated based on the pandemic. A post-delivery analysis of the consultancy carried out by the Fundación Pausa Urbana for the Municipality of Montes de Oca is created, which consisted in the elaboration of a “Preliminary project of intervention to Calle 3 through a participatory design for the transformation of the Calle de la Amargura ”, mainly to be able to understand what factors of the pandemic may be determining for an eventual adaptation of the design to the new normality. The objective is to be able to create a series of recommendations and improvements so that this project is coupled with the new guidelines and protocols for coexistence in public spaces, taking into account factors such as distance or the need for sanitation spaces in public areas. At the beginning of the development of this project, the following specific objectives were proposed: To know and systematize the social needs of the residents and passers-by of Montes de Oca on the Street. Execute a cultural agenda that allows helping to meet the cultural needs of the Street; and finally, and using all of the above as input, the co-preparation of a preliminary project for the intervention to be carried out on Calle 3. It is proposed to work under the concept of activation of public space, understood as the process of building, giving meaning, and consolidating, the vital and daily link between people and their public spaces (Pausa Urbana, 2015). Regarding the design of the project, this was born from the creation and intervention of more suitable spaces for pedestrians and other users in the area. One of the first proposals, and possibly the most significant design guideline that governs the others, is to reduce the vehicular circulation space in order to increase the area of the sidewalks, generating spaces that meet the needs of pedestrians and other road users in the zone. From this, an analysis of the needs is generated, such as: security, accessibility / mobility and use / frequency. Aspects such as materiality, width of sidewalks and streets, cultural spaces such as the amphitheater, shaded and rest spaces are beginning to be defined. Throughout this document, all these aspects are visualized, and the changes that were generated, due to the pandemic, from the first master plan. Este proyecto consta de un trabajo comunal universitario del anteproyecto analizado: Proyectando La Calle de la Amargura Transformación de la Calle 3. Se genera una revisión del anteproyecto en función de la pandemia. Se crea un análisis post-entrega de la consultoría realizada por la Fundación Pausa Urbana para la Municipalidad de Montes de Oca, que consistió en la elaboración de un “Anteproyecto de intervención a la Calle 3 por medio de un diseño participativo para la transformación de la calle de la Amargura”, principalmente para poder entender qué factores de la pandemia pueden ser determinantes para una eventual adaptación del diseño a la nueva normalidad . Se tiene como objetivo poder crear una serie de recomendaciones y mejoras para que este proyecto se acople a las nuevas directrices y protocolos de convivencia en los espacios públicos , tomando en cuenta factores como el distanciamiento o la necesidad de espacios de sanitización en las zonas públicas. Al principio del desarrollo de este proyecto se plantearon los siguientes objetivos específicos: Conocer y sistematizar las necesidades sociales que tenían las personas vecinas y transeúntes de Montes de Oca sobre la Calle. Ejecutar una agenda cultural que permita ayudar a conocer las necesidades culturales de la Calle; y por último y utilizando como insumo todo lo anterior, la co-elaboración de un anteproyecto para la intervención a realizar en la Calle 3.
