On December 4, 2014, in the presence of His Excellency the Right Honourable, Governor General of Canada David Johnston, LCI Bogotá officially inaugurated its new Cultural Center, located in Bogotá, Colombia, 77a Street #13-12. The objective of his Excellency's presence in Colombia is to reinforce cooperation between Canada and Colombia specifically on development initiatives such as the one presented by the launch of the LCI Education network's new campus.
Housed in a six-story, 7000m2 state-of-the-art and brand new building, the beautiful space was built to reflect the creative nature of the diplomas offered; the high educational standard; quality instruction and LCI Bogotá network's global Canadian education project. Every aspect of the new campus- including, work, ideation and study spaces, specialized equipment and furniture- was designed to inspire our students with creativity. The new campus, offering Diploma programs in fashion, gastronomy and design, was also designed to serve the community by offering a cultural space for art and design exhibitions.
"The idea of this building started three years ago, believing in a project that could reflect the compromise of offering quality education, providing the proper infrastructure to give our community a space for growth and innovation in an everyday more demanding environment." says Paula Perotti, Campus Director LCI Bogotá and Vice-President, Iberoamerica, LCI Education.
LCI Bogotá is a member of the LCI Education network, composed of 21 campuses in 11 countries, offering high-quality post-secondary Canadian education in Bogotá for over 17 years. Among the many advantages, students are able to enjoy opportunities to study abroad from one week to one semester at a selection of the network's campuses, including Montreal, Vancouver, Istanbul, Jakarta and Barcelona.
"The LCI Education network has made this strong investment in Colombia because the city perfectly reflects the values of our network's campuses- urban, dynamic and diverse," says Claude Marchand, President of LCI Education. "Our Bogotá campus will act as our educational network's gateway to the Latin-America and Caribbean region, helping us to attract an increasingly international student body.''
