The concept started from how to take advantages from the existing situation according to the category of the project which was Japanese high-end restaurant. Building up an entire wall through the structural column in the center of the site to create three individual spaces instead of focusing on the communication between two floors gives the whole restaurant an energetic and elegant quality. The mosaic ceiling with image of Van Gogh's masterpiece covers the 20 ft-high ceiling of the main dining area. The combination of Van Gogh's obsession of oriental aesthetic and the humble design of all other materials and furniture, endows this space a fascinating charisma.
