Personal Collection: Life Behind My Eyes

My concept represents life behind my eyes as a person who struggles daily with anxiety. Anxiety can act like a shield over all the beautiful moments in my life and conceal them with worry. Another prominent emotion that comes from my anxiety is the feeling of being trapped. To represent this feeling, I used strips of fabric wrapped around the garments in a diagonal striped pattern. The collection’s color palette will consist of two colors: black and pink. Black will represent the dark & dull moments I’ve experienced. Pink will represent happiness, joyful moments, and days where I feel less anxious. A common practice used to help reduce anxiety is self care and taking care of yourself. I feel my best when I put together a nice outfit and get myself ready for the day. The aesthetic of my collection is 90’s runway lingerie themed to represent confidence and femineity. My main inspirations being Nensi Dojaka, KNWLS, 90’s Marc Jacobs, 90’s Chanel, and Moda Operandi. Finally, for fabrics I chose satin and lace fabrics/trimmings to give a lingerie effect to the garments.
