Savage Reverie

This demo draws inspiration from the mechanics seen in Bethesda Game Studios titles like Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim. Set in a Western-themed world, the game features a dynamic inventory system, looting mechanics, dialogue trees, and skill progression systems that adapt based on player choices. Players can explore an open-world environment where every action influences their abilities, from combat to just walking. This project was built using Unity and showcases RPG gameplay mechanics.

Level Up System and Skills

In this Western-inspired RPG, players earn skill points upon leveling up, which they can allocate to attributes like Guns, Melee Weapons, Explosives, Medicine, and Speech. Each skill affects gameplay, allowing players to tailor their experience. For example, Speech improves NPC interactions, while combat skills enhance effectiveness in battle. Inspired by Fallout: New Vegas, this system lets players shape their character's abilities and playstyle as they progress.

Dynamic looting System

This dynamic looting system allows players to interact with containers (such as vaults) or items scattered across the environment without pausing the game. Players can continue moving while looting, similar to the looting mechanics seen in Fallout 4 and other recent Bethesda titles. This seamless system keeps the gameplay fluid and immersive, enabling quick looting without breaking the player’s flow.

Dynamic Dialogue System

I developed a dynamic dialogue system that allows players to interact with NPCs without pausing the gameplay, inspired by systems found in Cyberpunk 2077. Players can still move freely during conversations, maintaining immersion. While I initially planned features like pulling out a weapon to intimidate NPCs for interrogation or theft, the current system focuses on natural interactions, providing players with multiple dialogue choices that can influence the narrative and player actions. This system enhances the role-playing experience by allowing seamless integration of dialogue into the gameplay flow.
