Personal Collection "Chiya Barima"

“Chiya Barima” defines tea field in Nepali. This collection is based on my name “Iksa” meaning Earth in the Limbu dialect which is an ethnic group in Nepal that I am part of. Nepali culture is very diveresed with 125 different ethnic groups. It is also represented in this collection by adapting its traditional clothing in a fresh approach and modernizing it in a different way where people can wear and not be afraid to wear it. Hopefully, this collection will be able to demonstrate both my identity and the collection's name. We utilised Dhaka cloth, which is originated in Nepal, and earthy tones. Additionally, we utilised tea to tie-dye the fabric and incorporated the shape of the tea basket to give the collection its proper name.
