Eat, Prey, Scream

Eat, Pray, Scream is a special edition book series aiming to bring a humorous self-help series during Covid-19.

Overview

The stategy of the design direction is to incorporate the realities of Covid-19 isolation into the cover illustrations. Staying in your pajamas all day working from home, not shaving your legs and carrying face masks everywhere you go are some realities we all faced.

Illustration

I chose to do my own illustrations as well as hand done typography to give a more raw and real feeling that aligns with the rough reality of Covid-19. It also brings a lighter side to brighten up a dark time.

Steps

First I gathered book cover design inspiration. I outlined the book’s main themes and considered the genre. Using visual hierarchy I got rid of the clutter. I chose appropriate typography and colors across the three books to achieve cohesiveness. I made sure that the title of each book stood out and that the spine of the book displayed the most important information.

Box Series

Each book in this series has been redesigned. Each book is written by a different author but all work cohesively as they are all under the self-help series umbrella. Together they would be sold as a special edition box series.
