Biography
My name is Kevin Chou and I come from Hong Kong. I have had a strong interest in video game development since I was at a very young age. I started by learning how to create mods for the games I played. Eventually, I started taking some introductory programming courses to ensure it was something I would like to do in the future.
After that I went to The Art Institute of Vancouver to study game design. I learned about using different engines to create levels, writing game design documentations, and pitching game ideas. I also gained experience developing a game as a level designer in a production team.
The design program allowed me to experience the bigger picture of game development. It also served as a catalyst to ignite my interest in pursuing video game programming. Therefore I decided to continue my studies in game programming to further my capability in LaSalle College Vancouver. I learned software development in various game areas including networking, AI, graphics, multithreading and gameplay. In particular, I found that gameplay and UI programming intrigued me the most. Therefore, I always try to take on those roles whenever opportunity arises.
