Jasper, Alberta, is home to the second largest dark sky preserve in the world. A dark sky preserve is an area in which no artificial light is visible and active measures are in place to promote and educate the reduction of light pollution to the public. The concept is based on the dark sky preserve, thus the bright, contrasting colors for the text and stars against a deep background hue were chosen to represent the beautiful galaxies. The tagline “sleep under the stars” evokes the experience of camping out and relaxing under the night sky at such a preserve.
