This is my fashion design portfolio that I created with the projects I have done throughout my college in LaSalle Jakarta
ROMANTIC SOUL
The theme of this collection is Romantic Soul, inspired by the Greek Goddess of Soul, Psyche and her love story with Cupid. Psyche was pictured as a butterfly and represented beauty. The main fabrics in this collection are Tenun Bulu fabric from Jepara, Tenun Lurik from Yogyakarta, tweed, taffeta, organza, and tulle. The main colours of this collection are ivory, dark grey, black, and dusty pink. The textile treatments used in this collection are tulle trimmings, beading along with the Tenun Bulu motif, butterfly and flower applique made from organza. This collection features puffy sleeves, mini dresses, fit and flare dresses or skirts, empire waistlines, and relaxed-tailored jackets with touches of ribbons and ruffles to create a feminine and romantic feel. This Ready-To-Wear collection targets the market of sophisticated urban women 20-30 years old.
HERITAGE
The theme of this RTW collection is the strong legacy of East Sumba and the traditions in the culture of East Sumbanese. The Lau Pahikung fabric has Tangawahil motif, referencing the betel basket that the Sumbanese would bring out and offer betel to guests as a symbol of respect and hospitality. The main fabrics for this collection are Lau Pahikung (Sumba Traditional Textile), cotton drill, linen, and tulle. The main colours of this collection are oxblood, navy, off-white, sand, and brown. In this collection, the textile treatments used are modular construction, passementeries, hand embroidery, wood beadings, and reverse applique. This collection has silhouettes of oversize coats, boxy jackets, loose-fitting dresses, and avant-garde pinafores. This collection honours the skilled weaving women of Sumba, targeting the market of sophisticated and fashion-forward women in their twenties or thirties.
MIDNIGHT BLOOM
The theme of this RTW collection is flowers blooming at midnight under the beaming moonlight. The main fabrics for this collection are the Tenun Gedog fabric motif “Intip Iyan” (Traditional woven textile from Tuban, East Java), linen and cotton drill with hand embroidery as the textile treatment. The off-white and camel colours represent the night-blooming flowers and the moonlight, while the navy and black colours represent the dark and enchanting night sky. This collection has loose-fitting, layered looks with relaxed-tailored jackets, trapeze dresses, blouses with gathered details, and culottes. Celebrating the Tuban's traditional weaving techniques using all-natural dye, this collection targets fashion-forward metropolitan women 20-30 years old.
PROSPERITY
The theme of this RTW collection is about the prosperity and the flourishing culture and traditions of Flores. The Sikka traditional fabric's motif is named "Tibun Dagir", symbolising birth and fertility. The main fabrics for this collection are Sikka Ikat fabric (Flores Traditional Textile), cotton drill, denim, cotton and hand-woven lurik fabric from Yogyakarta. The main colours of this collection are rust-brown, navy, off-white, sand, brown, muted pink, and muted yellow. In this collection, the textile treatments used are tapestry weaving, hand embroidery, wooden beadings, soft quilting, decorative grosgrain trimmings. This collection has loose-fitting, layered looks with relaxed-tailored jackets, shirts with creative cut details, and ankle-length pants. Honouring the intricate ikat techniques using all-natural dye of the Sikka people, this collection target the market of stylish and fashion-forward men of 20-30 years old.
ANNÉES FOLLES
The theme of this Micro Couture collection is about the glitz and glamour of Années Folles, the Roaring 20s. Glam beads placed to form Yogyakarta's Batik Nitik motifs are used to embellish the garments. The main fabrics for this collection are tweed, georgette, and chiffon. The main colours of this collection are off-white, dark grey, black, muted silver, and pale gold. Other than Batik Nitik inspired beadings, the textile treatments used in this collection are artdeco beadings, sequin beadings, tulle trimmings and beads fringes. This collection features loose-fitting and relaxed jackets, slender dresses with a straight silhouette and feature drop waist at the hips, and swingy skirts with a seamless mix of twenties style and modern taste. Fitting for an upscale social gathering in the evening, this collection targets the market of sophisticated urban women of 20-30 years old.
