Production and Procedure Course_Paper Diorama Project

For this assignment in my Production and Procedure course, I had to choose any folklore story from Indonesia as the theme, and create an elaborate multi-layered paper diorama. I chose the Javanese story “Timun Mas” (Indonesian for “Golden Cucumber”), which is about a young, kind-hearted girl named Timun Mas, who has to desperately protect herself from a villainous green giant who wants to eat her. I then had to choose a scene from the story that I wanted to display, in which I chose a scene where the giant chases the main character. I had to create the scene in layers of different colored paper, and eventually put those layers (which I cut out using a cutter) upon a thicker surface, in this case being an infra board. I also used that same infra board to help hold the paper layers upon one another, thus giving it the appearance of a diorama.
