For this project for my Editing in Story Telling class, I had to choose any type of object (in which I chose a mammals book). Afterwards, I had to create a story in which my chosen object is the central object. I was also able to do this with any type of chosen story genre, in which I chose the fantasy genre. Therefore, with that mammals book, I created a story about a teenage girl named Lucy is sucked into an enchanted kingdom called The Enchanted Lands via a magical mammals book, in which she teams up with Samson - a mighty lion who is the Enchanted Lands’ fearless and compassionate leader - as she meets all of the mammals who live in the book. But when a ruthless mountain lion named RJ begins to threaten the kingdom, it’s up to Samson and Lucy to help restore peace to the kingdom.
To create the final result, I used Adobe Illustrator to draw all of the characters, scenes, and backgrounds.
Read the documentI started by using Adobe Photoshop to help create the whole story.
Read the documentBefore I did my Photoshop and Illustrator versions of my story, I had to sketch each scene (there are 14 scenes in total in my story) to help me give an idea of how my story would look like in terms of events, character poses, etc.
Read the documentAfter breaking my story into 7 scenes, I had to create the kinds of poses my characters could show throughout the story.
Read the documentMy sketches of my 3 main characters: 1) Lucy, a teenage girl who is the story's protagonist 2) Samson, a lion who is leader of the Enchanted Lands 3) RJ, a mountain lion who is the story's antagonist
Read the documentAfter creating my story, I was asked by my teacher to break it down into 14 pages - which eventually helped me sketch the events told in each page.
Read the documentMy first step was creating my story and showcasing a description of what my three main characters would look like.
