My photoshoot of night photography illustrates the true emotion of a young man in the working class after a workday. Also, the photoshoot unveils some shabby corners inside a cosmopolitan and developed city like Montreal. Nevertheless, in a moment, he still looks up toward dreams of having a better life. The photoshoot follows the timeline, from when the man finishes his work at night until he is in the blank kitchen of his house and feels too tired to cook something. Mostly, the lights are artificial lights such as street light poles or bulk, and they are kind of dim to reflect the character’s feelings. On his way back home, there are not a lot of street light poles that create a dark and cold color for these pictures. But, the photos, which are taken in the kitchen, have a warm color, which comes from the bulk on the stove. The pictures focus on the man to demonstrate his feeling, fatigue, sorrow and dream, and his face is also the highlight point of these pictures. In the photos in the kitchen, we see the straight lines (both vertical and horizontal) on the walls’ bricks, which block him in the middle of the room, also we can see the straight lines on the road and also on the building of his house. The similarity comes from the setting (on the street) and in the kitchen, also the dark tone at night. The more change is the angles of the camera and his gestures. The places (poor streets and alleys) are repeated in different pictures. The character expresses his exhaustion through his face, and he becomes a symbol of people from the lower classes. Therefore, through the photoshoot, I want to show a part of the life of poor people, as well as I hope that their community can give them an opportunity to rise up.
