Design Arts, Interior Design & Architecture
Design is about learning and trying new things, you may not always like what you see but that is the beauty of this profession, you have the power to change the physical world around you. The most successful spatial design is when you fail to realise that you are being made to walk, think or view a space in a predetermined way. In addition to completing her Interior Design degree, with a sub-major in Graphic Design, Emily has grown up in the design industry and has studied other design disciplines. She has accumulated a wide range of skills across a variety of industries including; framing, photography, project management and technical drafting. She is able to implement this diverse knowledge across her designs introducing different elements within them and developing a concept for the installation aspects of her design. When working on projects she often draws inspiration from other mediums, along with what would inspire productivity within the space taking into account the surrounding environment. Emily believes each project should be accompanied by the tactile properties of the space or a flat lay of the materials at some point throughout the process as it has many benefits not only for the client but also the designer. Her approach to design is a minimalist style with a focus on the end user and how they will interact within the space.
