Biography

I am a musician who loves to compose, sing, play piano, and guitar. I’d say my style is a mixture of soul, contemporary, jazz, electronic, and funk. My parents noticed my love for music when I was a baby. So they bought me a keyboard and a microphone. I would spend a lot of time on that keyboard, and my dad told me I would drive him crazy with the microphone. Screaming into it, running back and forth around the house! My parents registered me for piano lessons at the age of 6. And at this time, I also learned to play songs by ear at home. Either just the notes, or also singing along. This exposed my inner composer. I started composing at a young age, and the earliest recording I remember playing piano for, was when I was about 10 years old. I had countless performances as a pianist, and at the age of 16 I had my first solo performance as a singer, in a talent show. This lead me to join my church choir a few years later as a pianist, and eventually also as a singer. In 2014 I stopped participating in the choir to begin studying music therapy in university. I loved the musical knowledge I was gaining from school, but was not very interested in the psychology. I often found myself looking for something else when I was home. In my spare time I would work with the software audacity to make cuts to different mp3’s and to record vocals. Eventually I started looking for audio engineering schools, and as soon as I found one that interested me, I became a student. Today, I can honestly say that becoming an audio engineer is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
