Biography

After 22 years of living in Mexico City, earning diplomas in photography and graphic design, and working in event organization and public relations, Daniela decided to move to Vancouver where she discovered the perfect environment to develop and hone her passion for design. Seeking new opportunities and platforms to keep growing in the fashion industry, she completed a diploma in Fashion Design at LaSalle College Vancouver. Her love for lingerie and streetwear, fresh textile manipulations, and constant research go hand in hand with her ambition to create something modern. Her first collection, showcased at Vancouver Fashion Week FW18, was inspired by the environmental impact of fast fashion, particularly with respect to lingerie. She used recycled bras destined for the landfill to craft a collection of innovative pieces including dresses, tops, bodysuits, shorts and bras. Daniela’s design aesthetics, use of texture, and colour palette caught the attention of important fashion media including Vogue. Daniela dreams of owning a sustainable lingerie brand, as well as pursuing opportunities as a stylist, photoshoot coordinator and fashion marketer. She believes in an ethical, environmentally responsible supply chain that improves the working conditions of people back home in Mexico. Her collection represents the beautiful possibilities of sustainability, and marks the beginning of her journey as a fashion designer.
