Biography

My name is Valentina Callejas and I am currently studying in the arts, literature and communication program at Lasalle College in Montréal. I have always enjoyed drawing because it is a medium that makes me feel at peace. However, I have always been captivated by photography and digital illustration. Essentially, I think art is complementary, each of the artistic media has a connection and an influence between them. Each medium is an exploration and a new experience for the artist. I consider my artistic practice as a project in constant change and evolution, this is why I like to explore different mediums in order to keep challenging my creativity. By exploring new techniques I am able to know my weaknesses and strengths, and find new ways of expressing myself and my ideas. Art has been therapeutic for me and it has also been the best language to communicate what I feel. I would like to become a multimedia visual artist. I want to continue exploring new techniques to create art and let myself be carried away by my instincts and passions.
