Aliens, Beasts & Phantoms
Heidi’s work investigates the identity struggles faced by pre-teens within the teen culture. This series comprises of cinematically styled photographs entitled Aliens, Beasts, and Phantoms. Aliens are the self in which our faults become an over exaggerated figure. Beasts take a physical form of another, that frighten or restrain us, and phantoms depict the inner emotions of paranoia. The narratives are visually represented like a modern day fairy tale, and are a metaphorical take on human nature.
