Carnival - water

Water is the element chosen, and more specifically the ocean in a mermaid thematic. The project was created for a ballet performance, so the costume is enough comfortable to let the dancer moves her body freely. The concept was use the inspiration of the Venice carnival with all those colors, shine, shapes and extravagance, and for a better interpretation of this concept Renaissance shapes and details were used on the outfits. The costume also has a mix of mermaid mood with a few intereting animals that we can find on the seabed. The charater is Briguella, and this name comes from the Commedia dell-Arte, a popular Italian genre for drama created during the Renaissance. The character is a mother of a teenager boy. She is very protective and selfish.
