This is How Good Products are Designed

Ernest Perera, product design professor at the LCI Barcelona school is talking about good products design.
On May 14th, as part of the prestigious LaSalle College Festival, the E24 event was held at the Pavilion of the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal. This key event aimed to showcase the final projects of our Fashion Marketing students, highlighting their creativity, innovation, and passion.
Among the many teams from the 2024 cohort, five were selected by Mathieu St-Arnaud, General Director of Mmode, based on specific evaluation criteria. Then, our five industry experts chose the project that inspired them the most to support in the competition.
During the event, the five teams presented their projects to the audience. A representative from each team was then invited on stage to answer a few questions from their assigned expert.
Thank you to our five experts for their dedication and collaboration in supporting the emerging talent:
Inder Bedi from BEDI Studios
Mayco Quiroz from Tenet Fintech
Melyssa Woods from Maison Lipari
Vanessa Lafon from Cirque du Soleil
Gildas Awuye from Messan Studios
The five finalist teams presented business concepts in fashion, each reflecting a novel and bold vision:
A collection of modular clothing designed to adapt to your daily routine, by Safe Fadil, Alessia Marie Pietraroia, Méanne Bégin, Noémie Delcourt, Olivia Kojima, and Karim Hani.
Versatile, inclusive, and fashionable compression socks by Malia Lefranc, Geneviève Castellon, and Nikaëlle Tétrault.
Inclusive and eco-friendly ballet slippers by Amy Donovan and Ira Gooljaury.
Tableware that becomes living art, connecting your home to the Montréal art scene, by Erika D’Antonio, Sarah Ibgui, Alea Salim, Angelica D’Eramo, and Catherine Heriveaux.
Embrace skin harmony with micro-encapsulated technology, by Anastasia Wilson, Alisya Pierre, and Katherine Kyriazopoulos.
Congratulations to the Sierra team, consisting of Amy Donovan and Ira Gooljaury, who won the prize for Best Business Concept 2024! Guided by Vanessa Lafond from the Cirque du Soleil, this collaboration promises a bright future.
The prize was awarded by Jonathan Brun, co-founder of Off/Script, an app supporting emerging entrepreneurial ideas.
During this event, several awards and scholarships were presented to students, thanks to our partners:
A big thank you to all the students of the organizing team for their passion and exceptional work in executing such a large-scale event:
Creative Director: Andrew McNally, Fashion Dean at LaSalle College
Producer: Yolande Nesseth, teacher in Fashion Marketing
This event would not have been possible without the support of our valued partners. Thank you all for contributing to the success of this memorable evening. We look forward to seeing where these young talents will take the fashion industry in the coming years.
