Harshit Grover AKA Mr DJ
Audio Tech @LCV and Freelance DJ
Professional Recording Arts - LaSalle College Vancouver
Describe the type of work that you do:
At LCV I work on all Audio Tech configurations in the school and at all events. I also produce, compose and sound design for film and games. I love to work at live concert events with the Audio Crew.
Tell us about your most recent performance:
I had a live performance on the rooftop of LCV and it was live streamed. There was over 1000 watching live and there have also been almost 2000 views of the performance on YouTube. It was amazing to collaborate with Film and Photography students as well as staff on this Alumni Project.
What are your future career goals?
I would like to get back into working at live concerts as well as DJ performances of my own. I would love to write an orchestral piece for movies.
What are your best memories from your studies at LaSalle?
I have two, the show I did on the rooftop and when I worked with the events team and we changed the soundstage into a nightclub for a special agent event. It was awesome to DJ for so many people from all over the world.
In your program what was your favorite subject?
I would not say it was a favorite subject but all my classes with David Bernstein were my favorite. He had great energy and was so knowledgeable.
Describe your general feeling during your first week or month of school?
I was so excited to dive into the program and meet new people from all over the world.
What advice would you give to a student presently enrolled in the Professional Recording Arts Program?
Try to network as much as you can and make connections.
What surprised you most when you started your career in PRA?
How exhausting it is and how many hours are involved when I am at live concerts.
What are the essential qualities required to succeed in the Recording Arts world?
To be open to any opportunity in the industry.
