“Knowing how to start your business with a project that moves you deeply, that’s succeeding in business! ”
On Wednesday October 25, in front of a rapt audience, Danièle Henkel revealed her business secrets during a conference at the LaSalle College, for the benefit of the LCI Education Foundation.
Dragon, international businesswoman and successful entrepreneur, Danièle Henkel shared the stage with her protégée, Raquel Tulk.
LaSalle College graduate and founder of Viita, Raquel Tulk was able to catch Ms. Henkel’s attention on the show Dans l’oeil du dragon (the Quebec version of Dragon’s Den).
On the show, this young entrepreneur presented her final project, developed while studying Fashion Marketing: “smart”, antibacterial, leak-proof, fashionable underwear that protect women dealing with light incontinence. Her product can now be found in more than 3,000 retail outlets.
“It’s your attitude, not your aptitude, that determines your altitude.”
Ms. Henkel was full of advice for young men and especially women who want to get started in business.
Having started her company at the age of 44, with 4 children, she is unequivocal: it is never too late to turn your idea into a reality.
Her speech was peppered with pearls of wisdom: “You have to understand that you always have the choice. I’m weighing my words. You have the choice of going forwards, stepping backwards, stopping and giving up, it’s OK. But you have the choice. ”
In her opinion, it can be very beneficial to find a mentor. Raquel Tulk certainly agrees wholeheartedly.
